# Thalius Hippocampus — developer docs

> Beta, 5 Oct 2026: endpoints and fields can still change. Hippocampus is a knowledge base built from a company's documents. Developers reach it through a REST API (core and vault) and an MCP server. Search returns the passages that answer a question, with pages and a link to the original.

## Instructions for AI agents

- Base addresses (defaults): core `https://hippocampuscore.thalius.ai`, vault `https://hippocampusvault.thalius.ai`, MCP `https://hippocampusmcp.thalius.ai/mcp`. A workspace's own addresses are in the Hippocampus app under Manage workspace → API and MCP.
- Auth: `Authorization: Bearer <token>`, the ID token of a signed-in Hippocampus user (about one hour). There are no API keys yet.
- To connect an agent, prefer MCP (OAuth sign-in in the browser). To upload local files, use REST `POST /ingest`.
- To set Hippocampus up in a project, read https://www.thalius.ai/developers/SKILL.md and follow it.
- There are no official SDKs yet; use HTTP. Do not invent endpoints: the full list is in the OpenAPI file below.
